Look who we spotted hanging around Marigold Coffee & Wine Bar, it’s Doug Wilson, best known for TLC’s Trading Spaces. We are super pumped 💪 to know that he is enjoying checking out Downtown Lynchburg while in town for the Lynchburg Home and Garden Show. 🌱🏠🛋

Meet Jack Glenn. He has been creating ornate stained glass windows in downtown Lynchburg since 1991. “It started as a job, and then it became a passion,” said Glenn. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Glenn has created stained glass windows for local churches, historic homes, Market at Main, and many others. Find him located within Bailey Spencer Hardware ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It’s 70 degrees, sunny, and MayLynn’s reopens today! ☀️🍦👏Could it get any better? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yes, yes it can because the first 15 people in line at 3pm get a FREE small cone with one topping. Holla! 🙌

If you have ever take Theo’s classes, you know they are a mix of kick-ass beats, serious sweat, and a crazy good time.😅 Classes are Monday - Friday evenings. Check out his Instagram for more info.

We are so happy to welcome Theo to the Downtown Lynchburg Business community!
Snag a class pass and let’s all get ready to dance and sweat together! 💦👯‍♀️ #downtownlynchburg
Today, some of the lots on Jefferson Street will convert to paid lots during the day time. Listen, we get it. Paid parking doesn’t seem like a good thing. But we have FIVE reasons to feel pretty positive about this change. 🚗🚕🚙 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. These changes are needed because more and more people are coming Downtown - which is pretty awesome. 🎉👏🏽
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. All Downtown lots are still free at night. Going out to dinner? Free parking. Getting a drink with friends? Free parking. You get the point. 🍔🍺⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. There is still PLENTY of free daytime parking in Downtown. All street parking is free, and there are still some free lots on Jefferson, including the Canal Lot and the Jefferson St Lots. (And also the unspoken railroad parking that we certainly do not condone but secretly celebrate)💵
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Paid parking in Lynchburg is CHEAP. Only $0.25 for the first hour and $1 after that, with a $5 max for the whole day.🤘🏽
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. You can pay online. Download the Passport Parking app and pay on the fly. 📱⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀
So that’s the deal. As more and more people come to downtown, there will always be challenges and change. But what a great problem to have. We’ll take it! #downtownlynchburg #citylife
Today marks the beginning of Black History Month and First Fridays Lynchburg some amazing works by African American Artists. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Be sure to stop in to Academy Center of the Arts to view an assortment of acrylic paintings by Christina Davis (pictured) in the Up Front Gallery. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Then head to Riverviews Artspace to experience the Emerging Artist Series featuring Veronica Jackson: The Burden of Invisibility. “This series investigates how Black women see, don’t see, value, or devalue themselves in visual culture, and how these attitudes affect their sense of agency in constructing their own imagery or being susceptible to the images that already exist,” says Jackson. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
