REGAINING MOMENTUM POST-COVID

Downtown Lynchburg is back on track! After years of growth and redevelopment that was stunted in 2020, we saw the numbers begin to trend upward again last year in terms of visitation and tax revenue.

THE OPENING OF ART ALLEY

Art Alley officially opened to the public on October 1, 2021. Downtown was truly electric that night, and showed how public art and placemaking efforts can bring people together, create excitement, and provide an opportunity for the community to come Downtown to eat, shop, and explore.

HOSTING DOWNTOWN FIREWORKS

Fireworks lit up the sky over Riverfront Park on July 2, 2021, and were visible from vantage points throughout the city. The event was a hit, and it also brought thousands of visitors to the district, where they ate, shopped, and explored throughout the evening.

PROMOTING & MARKETING DOWNTOWN

With creative blogs, engaging webpages, exciting videos, and informative newsletters, DLA highlights a downtown experience that entices the community to come support our local businesses. Thanks to our community that stays engaged with our content, we are able to continue providing helpful information that highlights all things Downtown Lynchburg.

WELCOMING NEW BUSINESSES

Over a dozen new storefront businesses (retail shops, restaurants, and services) joined our growing environment in 2021, providing more opportunities for residents and visitors to experience Downtown Lynchburg in new and exciting ways.
