Join the LSO in the Academy Center of the Arts Historic Theatre to welcome new Music Director David Glover as we kick off our two-season celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday with his immortal Symphony No. 5. Written at a time of increasing deafness and personal turmoil for the great composer, this symphony expresses the capacity of the human spirit to overcome adversity. From the opening four-note “fate” motif, to the blazingly triumphant finale, Beethoven takes us on one of the most memorable musical journeys ever created. Also showcased will be the technical fireworks of one of his most beloved piano concertos. Don’t miss the beginning of a new era for the LSO!
