Following the cancelation of the performance by Nebraska Theatre Caravan, the Academy Center of the Arts staff has planned to offer a free screening of the 1984 film version of A Christmas Carol in the Historic Academy Theatre on Thursday, December 19, 2019, beginning at 7:30pm.

Christmas elicits nothing more than “Bah, humbug!” from Ebenezer Scrooge, a miser whose sole pursuit of financial success has left him a bitter and lonely old man. But Christmas Eve visits from the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future ultimately teach him to open his heart to the spirit of Christmas and to the joys of friends and family.
