With Voices Raised - A Concert of Opera and Song

Screen Shot 2019-09-24 at 4.16.01 PM.png

Opera on the James celebrates the power of the human voice in a concert of life enhancing music and vocal fireworks. Marco Nistico, the newly appointed General Director of Opera on the James, and Principal Conductor Peter Leonard have selected an exciting group of vocalists from across the country to perform a varied program of opera arias and beloved Broadway melodies.

The performance will feature the Opera on the James Orchestra, the University of Lynchburg Choral Union,
as well as a roster of distinguished guest artists: Tess Altiveros, Raquel Gonzales (returning after her success as Violetta last season), Hillary Ginther, Andrew Surrena, and Stefano de Peppo. Enjoy music by Giacomo Puccini, Giuseppe Verdi, Leonard Bernstein, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gioachino Rossini, and more.
You will hear music that inspires, provokes thought, and helps us to understand who we are and how we relate to one another.
